Following her stint at Meredith Music and Arts Festival this December, POOKIE takes over Howler for a headline show on Saturday December 17th.
POOKIE is a producer, songwriter, DJ and composer based in Naarm via Boorloo. Engaged in myriad forms of creative expression, POOKIE’s artistry invokes her South Sudanese roots in combination with a nod to her Western upbringing. She’ll be bringing her live band experience to the Howler - one informed by Afro-Jazz and Hip Hop melodies, largely inspired by the buzzing diaspora of Black creatives celebrating their own narratives and unapologetically taking up space.
Supporting POOKIE in the band room on the night are Hip Hop acts Tébir and JULAI, with Mirasia holding up the energy on the decks between sets.
Plus Savage the Girl, Kgomotso, Pet$ & Folarin in the garden.
This event will take place on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present; their culture and language; and ongoing resistance against colonialism since 1788. Always Was, Always Will Be.
Free entry to all First Nations people wishing to attend this event. Please get in touch via shamillar@crownruler.com
