Event Details

THE LAST ONE: Iconic, Heat Beat legends, NO ZU, play their final show. Of course, they are doing it in the town from which they first emerged from the primordial, radioactive goo in 2007 and formed into the incomparable mutant-dance band we know today. Our own Antipodean version of no-wave-muscle-punk-funk, Heat Beat. The NIghtcat, March 24th, 2023 will be stacked with friends, lovers and urgent acts that share a venn-diagram cross-over of NRG and rawness somehow. Our Carlson, Shove, and huge supporter/friends/superstar selectors DJ Milo Eastwood (PBS) and Adriana join NO ZU for the teary and sweaty night. Don't miss out.

THE END: With the release of Heat Beat, a collection of final recordings featuring their beloved, late singer, Daphne Camf and then embarking on a run of emotional, but celebratory shows, the time feels right to go out on a high. It's time to pursue some other things. There is no feeling quite like being on or off stage when the 20 limbed mutant ZU slime-monster takes over and the bond between band members and between the band and crowd takes hold. Let's do it one more time.

We acknowledge that this event will be held on Wurundjeri land of the Kulin Nation and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
