Indie rock and keyboard pop / alt rock / Punk Rock
New Calyptus bring a fresh sound, gathering momentum with their trailblazing fusion of indie rock and keyboard pop. Inspired by bands like Ball Park Music and Supertramp, they play songs equal parts playful and sincere. With witty lyrics, catchy melodies and thumping grooves, a splendid time is guaranteed for all.
Live, New Calyptus brings an infectious enthusiasm and sense of fun. With all six band members playing off each other and interacting with the crowd, it is hard not to get drawn into the world of each song. Each set is crafted to bring out dancey highs, but also to create moments of emotional intensity and reflection: sharing a message of optimism and openness. As a band, we thrive off the chance to bring new people into the world of our music, and this shows, with an increasing number of regular fans coming to gigs.
Harriet and the Hags - Harriet B, supported by her Hags, provides the audience with alternative rock that is dripping with nostalgia, pearls and a pensive attitude. Born and raised on Darug land, she is heavily influenced by the bushland and by artists like Courtney Barnett, Nick Cave, Julia Jacklin and Mazzy Star. Harriet’s ethereal lyrics waltz with the heavier sounds of her band to create a space that welcomes the audience to have a little dance and little cry (if they so choose).
Duke Daisy - Blooming from a high school music room, Duke Daisy is a quartet that has blossomed through independent music circles throughout Sydney. Fusing punk rock ethos with swirling synth psychedelia, Duke Daisy hands you a diverse bouquet of sound that is both anthemic and stemming from a place of intimacy.
