Unique take on the Afro-Uruguayan genre called Candombe
ALBUM LAUNCH: "Mecanica del Candombe"
Ney Arrua is an Australian artist of Uruguayan decent, that has focused on combining his two cultures musically, resulting in his Band OMBÉ format, with their unique take on the Afro-Uruguayan genre called Candombe.
Candombe is a drum-based rhythm, brought over by slaves to Latin America and now taken by the wider Uruguayan community as their most representative musical style.
This full stage show combines funk/rock instrumentation (including brass), with latin drums and rhythms, fusing western world sounds with the traditions of the homeland.
A unique songwriter that knows how to craft a great song without losing authenticity and originality.
