Jazz, funk, experimental groove, electro/acoustic
Sydney musician Cameron Undy joins with local guests to collaborate on themes from the recent 'Ghost Frequency' album series, the electro EP ‘Bloodshot’ and some old chestnuts from the '20th Century Dog’ vault.
The music stems from rhythms of the African diaspora that are embedded in jazz, blues, funk, reggae, soul and just about every kind of contemporary dance music. the Ghost Freq collaborations are experimental, guided by a new take on rhythm that is brought out by an ‘embodied algorithm’ derived from ancient practices. Featured on the night will also be his new 'computational improvising algorithm’, 'Big Dog 6’.
Featured human guests over the month include: Tully Ryan (drums), Carl Dewhurst (guitar), Phil Slater (trumpet), Simon Barker (drums), Brendan Clark (electric bass), Jacques Emery (double bass), Mary Rapp (cello), Peter Farrar (saxophone), Bernice Tesara (trumpet).
“Few musicians would possess more depth of talent than Sydney’s Cameron Undy… thoroughly intriguing and unprecedented …” ★★★★★ The Weekend Australian
