Adelaide's noisy mates, Horror My Friend, return with their first release for 2019 'Turned Loose' and a pile of Europe and UK dates to go with it. The guys have announced a one-off Adelaide show (only Australian launch) to celebrate at their home, the Crown and Anchor.

On support, are shoe gaze connoisseurs Blush Response, Country/Alt-Rock heroes Ricky Albeck & The Belair Line Band & young Punk newcomers Teenage Joans.

Get tix early before they run out!

Time and time again, Adelaide’s best-loved noisy heroes, Horror My Friend, have proven themselves to be one of Australia’s up and coming purveyors of barely controlled noise and fuzz, with ‘Turned Loose’, album and reminding Australia of their ability to combine noise and fuzz with infectious melody, whilst announcing their biggest shows to date in the UK and Europe for the first time, including dates at The Great Escape and Groezrock, after signing to X-Ray Touring in 2018.

Honing a unique, yet evocative sound, reminiscent of 90’s pioneers Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Swirlies and taking cues from German legends Neu!, along with relative newcomers DIIV, Horror My Friend summon the spirit of alternative rock and shoe gaze, whilst breaking new ground and embedding themselves firmly in the present. Within their relatively short career, Horror My Friend have caused a stir and garnered critical acclaim both nationally and internationally, through a strong commitment to chaotic, yet commanding live shows, touring, along with the strength and maturity of their songwriting, proudly displayed on ‘Turned Loose’,a long with 2016’s seminal debut album ‘Stay In, Do Nothing’ and 2018’s ‘Home Life. During this time, Horror My Friend have toured nationally with the likes of Hockey Dad, Gyroscope, The Cribs (UK), Die! Die! Die! (NZ) and Pity Sex (USA), among others, whilst locally supporting Violent Soho, Cold Chisel, The Cribs (UK), Swervedriver (USA) and more. In addition to this, Horror My Friend have performed at festivals such as Groovin’ The Moo, Yours & Owls Festival, Bigsound, Blurst of Times and Poison City Weekender, whilst garnering strong radio and media support through Triple J, Unearthed, a range of community radio stations, along with blogs and music publishers both nationally and internationally.

With the announcement of their new single ‘Turned Loose’, released through Rad/Music Farmers as their first ever release, the trio begin a whirlwind 2019, touring through the UK and Europe with fellow aussies Kingswood, along with a string of huge festival dates, Horror My Friend have taken a step up within Australia and into the international arena. ‘Turned Loose’ sees Horror My Friend take a step out of Adelaide; commenting on the simple idea of ‘togetherness’, filtering it through a dynamic wave of enveloping fuzz, abrasive noise and infectious hooks.
