Grapes of Mirth is coming to Tassie!

Five of Australia’s best comedians and your host Merrick Watts will make their way to Josef Chromy Wines for 6 hours of comedy, music, wine, gourmet grub and the most amazing festival vibes.

LUKE MCGREGOR - Writer, actor, and one of Australia’s favourite comedians. Luke is also co-creator, co-writer, and star of the smash hit sitcom 'Rosehaven' with Celia Pacquola for ABC TV, for which Luke  won the award for Most Popular Actor at the 2019 TV Week Logie Awards! The third season of Rosehaven aired on the ABC in 2019. Also a regular on ABC's 'Utopia'. Tasmania's prodigal son returns for Grapes of Mirth!

GERALDINE HICKEY - Star of Channel 9's 'Metro Sexual' and soon to appear in the ABC's 'Rosehaven' alongs die Luke McGregor and Celia Pacquola. WINNER of the 'Piece of Wood Award' at the Melbourne Comedy Festival 2019, and nominated for most outstanding show; Geraldine is in red hot stand-up form. A stalwart of the Australian comedy scene, Geraldine has been seen on 'The Oxfam Comedy Gala', 'Upfront: The Queens of Comedy Gala', 'Tonightly' and 'Comedy Next Gen'.

TOM BALLARD - An award-winning stand-up comedian/actor/writer/broadcaster/person who always gives 100%. He’s one of Australia’s hottest comic talents, he’s performed and won acclaim all around the world; Edinburgh, Montreal, London, and he even once roast-battled Jimmy Carr and didn't die in the process. His list of awards are many and extensive and include the Helpmann Award for Best Show and the Pinder Prize, both at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

DAVID QUIRK - Stand-up comedian and actor David Quirk has cemented his place on our TV screens and as an original voice on the international comedy circuit, with hit live shows in Australia and the UK. You might have seen David on ABC's 'Rosehaven' where he plays the odd/lovely character of Damian, the Tasmanian hoarding locksmith. Or maybe it was as Josh Thomas' love interest in 'Please Like Me'. If not there, perhaps it was with Sam Simmons in 'Problems', with The Kates in 'Get Krackin', or with Sammy J & Randy in 'Ricketts Lane'. Who can say?

GEN FRICKER - Sardonic, unique, and downright weird – Gen Fricker has quickly become one of the nations brightest stars on the national comedy circuit, with her unique blend of sassy stand-up and dark musical experimentation, delivered with a butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-her-mouth smile. In addition to stand up, Gen is heard every weekday by listeners of the popular national radio station Triple J after recently taking over as the station's lunch presenter.

MERRICK WATTS - The "Merric" from Merrick and Rosso. Mez, as he is affectionately known, has worked at almost every radio and TV station in the country. He also appears regularly on 'Studio 10' where he often ruins their infomercials and cooking segments. Mez loves wine, he also loves writing about himself in the 3rd person!

Grapes of Mirth provides the ultimate festival day with five headline comedy sets, a host with the most, and some sweet DJ tunes (brought to you by the one and only, DJ PEDRO MOSHMAN!) to keep you entertained before, between, and after the comedy has ended.
