Saturday 12 November - Family Jams - Firetail and Darren Clinch
Firetail and Darren Clinch bring you the next instalment of the Family Jams series in the City of Moreland, bringing the best of Melbourne's diverse, original live music scene to kids aged 0-10 and their elders.
Electro-jazz fusion band Firetail and Badimia singer-songwriter Darren Clinch continue the Family Jams series in the City of Moreland bringing the best of Melbourne’s diverse, original live music scene to kids aged 0-12 and their elders.
Firetail's music spans from 70’s jazz-fusion, South Indian Carnatic music and Melbourne's very own brand of jazz-tronica. Formed in 2018 as a collaborative recording project, Firetail has developed an ambient approach to song-writing that blends soul-infused rhythms with evocative melodies and driving percussion.
Darren Clinch is a Badimia man from Yamatji country in WA. He is a guitar player who writes songs about his experiences and his thoughts on moments in time that have affected him the most. This is how he has learnt to deal with his emotions. His youngest born gets up and sings with him sometimes, and as his dad was a guitar player and singer as well, he feels very proud that he and Melody and are able to carry on the musical tradition in their family.
Family Jams is presented by Riot Baby and Charlie Woods, and is part of Resonate. Resonate is part of On the Road Again, a Victorian Government initiative to bring live music back across the state.
**Please be aware that this is a live music event and volume levels will be moderate - we keep levels at a low decibel range but do suggest looking into kids' ear muffs if there is any concern. We recommend something like this**
