Artist facilitator:
Colin Ross Trenaman is a graduate from the School of Art, Architecture and Design at the University of South Australia, where he was trained in multiple disciplines of visual art, all of which have contributed in some way to his drawing style. He has an on-going interest in seeking diverse approaches to mark-making that has led him to digital art.
Each of Colin’s individual artworks have the goal of providing multiple journeys for the eye, are made quickly with loose marks, and explore the tension between visual elements. He is generally inspired by the human figure, and obliterates it through his layering process, so as to make the contents of his works not immediately obvious, rather suspended somewhere between the representative and the abstract.
Drawing since he can recall, Colin believes his interest in art was forged in his childhood years, as an Air Force brat, where art and other creative pursuits had been a source of stability in a life of constant change. These days, he volunteers at Arts North Elizabeth Art Society, where he has been running life drawing sessions every alternate Saturday for the past few years.
