Toumba, the alias of Amman-based producer and DJ Yazan Zyadat, blends Middle Eastern heritage with cutting-edge electronic music. Inspired by a life-changing encounter with dubstep in 2017, he began producing in 2020, quickly gaining acclaim for his unique fusion of Jordanian traditions—like dabke rhythms and Bedouin melodies—with global club sounds. Releases on labels like Hessle Audio (Petals) and Nervous Horizon (Janoob) showcase his intricate, rhythmically rich style, balancing chaos and beauty. Deeply connected to his roots, Toumba’s work often reflects the sociopolitical realities of his region, including his benefit EP For Palestine. Now exploring ambient and vocal-driven projects, Toumba continues to push boundaries, sharing the sounds of the Middle East with the world.
