ITINERARY INFORMATION

BUSH UNI

Proudly standing on the Western side of Bunya Mountain, the Bush Uni awaits, offering a unique educational experience deeply rooted in the ethos of "on Country Learning." Here, the ancient wisdom and heritage of local Indigenous groups come alive, offering insights into law, connection, marriage systems, and dispute settlement. Join us in celebrating the Bush University, a beacon of cultural rejuvenation, with more to be unveiled at the event.

IMMERSIVE WORKSHOPS

Led by esteemed Traditional Owner John Davis, our dance, music, and storytelling workshop promise an engaging and immersive experience. Participants are invited to actively participate or simply relax and listen as they learn traditional Aboriginal dance moves, songs and captivating Dreamtime stories. It's a hands-on and immersive session, enabling you to bring the culture to life according to your preference.

The meaning of this activity is about respecting the people, the land and all living things. Participants will take a moment to give thanks and send a positive thought in prayer, meditation or affirmation to the spirits and souls that walk the forest through the creating of a little token of peace, respect and hope for all futures by creating two Spirit Wishes. One for the Mountain made from organic materials, lay and ochre, sticks and leaves. The other will be synthetic materials for you to take home with you.

Discover the various uses of plants in daily life, from medicinal and tucker to cultural significance.
