The Perth Blues Club presents Bloozology

Bloozology formed in 2007 as The McCowat - Nelson Blues Band, changing its name to the much-easier-to-remember moniker in 2010. The current line-up has been together since 2012 and features Allan Lyford (bass and vocals), Alan McCowat (guitar and vocals), Paul Millard (saxes), Vince Pavitt (drums) and Tony Celiberti (keyboards). These are some of Perth’s most experienced and highly-respected musicians who pride themselves on exploring all facets of the blues.

Bloozology is supported by The Western Suntones (7.30pm) and

Dr John & the Midnight Jammers (9.45pm)

The Western Suntones

The Western Suntones blend country, rock and folk producing a Country Rock / Americana sound. They have just recorded an exciting new album 'Long Way Home' and perform either as a trio or a four-piece with drums. The band has worked extensively in WA for the last ten years performing at licensed venues, Festivals, Rodeos and corporate events and has also completed two successful tours to the Tamworth Country Music Festival. The Western Suntones play a mix of originals and covers and this mix is always structured to suit the venue or event’s requirements. The instruments include acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, Dobro, bass (acoustic or electric), drums and three piece harmony vocals.

Dr John & The Midnight Jammers

Dr John and The Midnight Jammers have dug deep into the back catalogue of blues and came up with songs and a sound that blends rootsy riffs with raw grooves. Think Howling Wolf meets Buddy Guy!
Mixing rare blues gems with original numbers, The Jammers have found a fresh new sound that makes you want to jump and jive. With Tony (the groove guru) Edwards laying down a solid back beat, Mark on Bass locking in the pulsing bass grooves, Phil (the slide master) Pearson adding searing solos on his old Strat and jumpin', John (the Doctor) Smoker growling his way across the stage adding riffs on his Lucille Gibson and wailing into his old Marine Band harps, you are bound for a rockin' good night as Dr John and The Midnight Jammers roll you down the tracks through their back catalogue of blues.
