Event Details

Black Aleph are known for their weighty combination of post-metal and doom, shot through with influences from Eastern modal music traditions.

The trio’s style has been compared to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Earth and Neurosis - though there is a borderline spiritual quality to the music that comes from the unique instrumentation: guitar, cello, and Iranian daf drum.

As the band prepares to take their tectonic brand of drone overseas for the first time, they are playing one final Melbourne show. Their performance will feature pieces from their 2024 album Apsides, as well as new material.

Joining them are drone/psych cosmonauts The Black Heart Death Cult, Adeladian cinematic post-rock outfit Kupier (who are making their Melbourne debut), and the hypnotic prog/psych stylings of SANDS.

This will regrettably be the Black Aleph’s final Melbourne show for 2025, as members scatter around the globe for the rest of the year.
