Facilities

FRONT BAR
A slice of the old with a modern industrial twist greets you as you walk in the corner doors. The U-shaped bar has been returned to its original place & is surrounded by comfortable stools. A dart board & a pinball machine provide a little pub sports if desired (Buck Hunter’s out the back) & you can check out what’s happening on the plasmas. The showcase flame mirror bar stocks an extensive range of spirits, liqueurs, aperitifs & fortified wines, coupled with a great range of draft & bottled beer & wines, with many available by the glass. All this amounts to a comfortable ambiance which fits well with the original style borrowed from one of Adelaide’s oldest drinking spaces.

MAIN ROOM
This room takes multi-tasking to new levels. The cheerful dining room in which patrons feast like Kings & Queens on our famous $10 menu over lunch & dinner, is transformed into a state of the art, purpose built band room in a matter of minutes later in the evening. This is where we showcase a diverse array of local, interstate & international acts, DJs & more. The room is also available for private functions of all types* & has its own bar & kitchen pass plus a cosy open fire in the colder months.

BEER GARGEN
Arguably the biggest in the CBD, the Ed Castle Beer Garden is one of the few remaining licensed outdoor spaces where you can choose to spend an afternoon with friends, or a night out in the City. The outside bar is open during the busy times so you won’t have to trudge inside to get a drink or order a meal. A truly magnificent deciduous tree is the centrepiece that offers cooling shade in the summer & a view of the stars in winter, when the wood burning braziers take the chill out of the air & provide a unique almost rustic feel to the space. This area is also available iin part or in full for your next function.

BALCONY
Licensed for only 40 people the balcony is an intimate area overlooking Currie St & the sunsets over the West parklands. (and the Remand Centre – a great conversation starter apparently...!) Decked out with a mix of chair & table & leather couches, it’s a nice place to get away from the throng of downstairs. The area is also able to be converted into the perfect private entertaining area for your next soiree with the addition of a portable bar.
