Defeater Australian Tour 2015
With special guests Bane
After a full year of being off the road, Boston's Defeater has announced dates for their Australian Tour commencing on May 28 in Perth.
Front man Derek Archambault performed shows for two years with a cane, but now, fully recovered from a 2014 hip replacement surgery, he is ready to perform again.
"After a year away from touring and nearly two of immobility, I have never been happier to push forward with Defeater," said Archambault. "Releasing a new album with a label I have bought records from for more than 20 years still doesn't feel real. Like many of my peers, Epitaph's 90's roster was a big part of the soundtrack to my teenage years. Signing to Epitaph, and tours in the US, Europe and Australia has the makings of a banner year for Defeater."
Defeater has released three studio albums on Bridge 9 Records, Travels (2008), Lost Ground (2009), Empty Days & Sleepless Nights (2011), and Letters Home (2013). All of the band's recordings tell the story of a working class family living in New Jersey during the Post-World War II era. Defeater will release their fourth concept album in 2015 on Epitaph.
Joining Defeater will be fellow Bostonian's Bane. Bane released their fourth and final album "Don't Wait Up" on May 13, 2014. The bittersweet final album comes nearly twenty years after Bane's first release, which led the band on countless tours around the world and earned them widespread respect for being one of the hardest working bands in the business. The dates with Defeater will be Bane's final Australian Tour.
